NATO Defense College Northern African and Middle Eastern Affairs Research Adviser Dr. Pierre Razoux visited ORSAM on June 22, 2012. ORSAM Middle East Advisor Serhat Erkmen, ORSAM Middle East Researcher Oytun Orhan, ORSAM Middle East Researcher Bilgay Duman, ORSAM Middle East Research Assistant Nebahat Tanrıverdi, ORSAM Middle East Research Assistant Selen Tonkuş and ORSAM Water Research Program Researchers Dr. Tuğba Evrim Maden and Dr. Seyfi Kılıç participated the meeting.

Following the presentation of ORSAM and its activities, the transition process of the Northern African countries within the framework of Arab Spring, expectations regarding the solution for Syrian crisis, effects of the Syrian situation on Lebanese politics, the recent developments in Palestinian- Israeli peace process, the Shia-Sunni crisis in Iraq and the situation of several actors in Iraqi politics, İranian role in Iraqi and regional politics, the role of water in Turkish-Syrian relations have been handled through the views of NATO and Turkey.
