2013 Strategic Vision Award

The book entitled, “Kafkasya'nın Yükselen Yıldızı: İlham Aliyev Dönemi Azerbaycan” (Rising Star of Caucasus: Azerbaijan under Ilham Aliyev), which was written by Azerbaijani and Turkish academicians with the initiatives of the Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Turkey and the Atatürk High Institution of Culture, Language and History, was launched in Ankara on September 19, 2013.

During the book launch, also the ceremony of “2013 Strategic Vision Award” was organized by the Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.       

Among the attendants were: Head of Foreign Relations Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov, Specialist in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehman Aliyev, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) Dr. Ferhad Memmedov, SAM Foreign Policy Specialist Dr. Javid Valiyev, Head of the SAM press service Mehriban Hasanova, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov, Turkish Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group and Adana MP from AKP (Justice and Development Party) Necdet Unuvar, Ordu MP from AKP İdris Naim Şahin, Manisa MP from AKP Huseyin Tanrıverdi, Ankara MP from AKP Tülay Selamoğlu, as well as Secretary General of Presidency Mustafa İsen, Chairman of the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Strategic Research Center Prof. Dr. Bülent Aras, Chairman of the Atatürk High Institution of Culture, Language and History Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, and former Foreign Minister Hikmet Çetin.             

ORSAM was granted the “2013 Strategic Vision Award” for the achievements in the field of international relations and strategic research, as well as for the support to the activities of SAM.
