Journalist Delegation of Russian Federation paid a visit to ORSAM

Within the context of “The Program of Journalist Delegations” organized by the Republic of Turkey, the Prime Minister’s Office of Public Diplomacy, in cooperation with the Office of Public Diplomacy and the Directorate General of Press and Information (BYEGM), a journalist delegation from the Russian Federation pays a visit to Ankara, Gaziantep and Istanbul between 8 and 13 December 2014. The program aims to discuss the opportunities for close cooperation between Turkey and Russia and to direct attention of the Russian public towards Turkey. Within the context of the program, the Journalist Delegation of Russian Federation paid a visit to ORSAM on 9 December 2014 in order to discuss relations between the Middle East and Turkey relations.
 
The meeting headed by Şaban Kardaş, director of ORSAM, began with brief information about ORSAM. Then during the meeting that continued with questions from journalists, issues such as the Turkey’s foreign policy for the Middle East, the latest developments in the region, especially recent developments in Syria and Iraq as well as their consequences for Turkey, Turkey-Russia relations, the Putin’s visit to Turkey and its implications, cancellation of the South Stream project and its implications both for Turkey and the EU, the increasing importance of TANAP and the Blue Stream project were discussed. In addition, the Turkey-Russia relations in the context of nuclear energy and natural gas were evaluated.
