Ayşe Betül Bal

Ayşe Betül Bal is a bilingual editor, specializing in security, defense, conflict zones and energy politics. With experience in both traditional and digital media, she has built a career at the intersection of journalism and strategic analysis, providing in-depth coverage of global affairs.

She began her journalism career at Daily Sabah, an English-language newspaper based in Istanbul, where she worked as a field reporter, conducting interviews and producing analytical pieces. Prior to that, she served as a reporter and translator for Istanbul University’s Press and Public Relations Office while earning her degree in English Language and Literature, which she completed in 2017.

Beyond her professional work, Bal is committed to humanitarian efforts. She has contributed to a U.N.-supported project in Istanbul, working closely with local authorities to support both refugee and host communities. Actively involved in various NGOs, she believes in the power of civic engagement and continues to participate in initiatives aimed at social betterment.
