Between 2021 and 2025, Fadıl Hancı worked as a researcher at the Ümran Center for Strategic Studies. His research interests include security, governance, and foreign policy. He primarily focuses on Syrian studies and is broadly interested in Middle Eastern politics. He completed his undergraduate degree in Journalism at Üsküdar University and pursued a minor in Political Science and International Relations. He earned his master’s degree from the Department of Middle Eastern Political History and International Relations at the Institute of Middle Eastern and Islamic Countries Studies, Marmara University. In his master’s thesis, he examined the transformation of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Syria between 2012 and 2023.
