Musab Dönertaş – Levant Studies Researcher

He completed his master’s degree with high honors at the Marmara University Institute of Middle Eastern and Islamic Countries Studies, in the Department of Middle Eastern Political History and International Relations, with a thesis titled “Jihadist Groups in the Syrian Civil War (2011–2016): Between Resistance and Radicalism.” He is currently pursuing his PhD at the same institute. He has conducted fieldwork in various regions of Syria. His research focuses on the Syrian civil war, non-state armed actors, and radicalism. He has a good command of English and an intermediate level of Arabic.
