A MEETING WITH THE DELEGATION of the U.S. MARINE CORPS MILITARY COLLEGE in ORSAM

On May 20, 2011 a meeting was held within the Center for Middle Eastern Strategic Studies, with the participation of the Colonel Michael F. Belcher, Colonel Bryan Bearden, Terry Brease, Bruce MacKay, Colonel Eric J. Angeli, Commander Randall J. Biggs, Helen Rand Dinger, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Dolan, Commander William Hughes, Colonel Christopher Keane, Lieutenant Colonel William Mccullough, Lieutenant Joseph Murray, Lieutenant Timothy Parker, Lieutenant Jeefry Philippart, and Colonel Keith Skinner from the U.S. Marine Corps Military College and from the Embassy of the United States in Ankara.    

The meeting, which was started with the opening statement of the ORSAM Senior Advisor retired Major General Armağan Kuloğlu, was carried out with the participation of the ORSAM Middle East Experts Oytun Orhan, Bİlgay Duman and Sercan Doğan. The ORSAM Middle East Expert Oytun Orhan assessed the most recent developments in Syria, in his presentation entitled, “The Opponent Civil Commotions in Syria and Turkey”, in terms of their influences on Turkey and on the region. The ORSAM Middle East Assistant Researcher Sercan Doğan, carried out a presentation entitled, “The Recent Developments in Iran-Afghanistan and Pakistan”, and he told about his knowledge and assessments related to the current situation in each of the three countries. And lastly, the ORSAM Middle East Expert Bilgay Duman made a presentation entitled, “The Recent Developments in Iraq and Turkey”.      

The meeting, where the information exchange took place, found an end by the Embassy of the U.S.' giving plaquet to ORSAM.
