ORSAM-BİLKENT JOINT MEETING: BELORUSSIA

ORSAM and Bilkent University carried out a closed meeting entitled, “The 20th Anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan and Turkish-Kyrgyz Relations” in Ankara, on March 6 2012. H. E. Valery Kolesnik, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus made the opening speech of the meeting, in which participants from various universities and different organizations took part. Following the opening speech of the Ambassador, ORSAM Eurasian Strategies Coordinator and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar from Bilkent University made their opening statements. During the meeting, ORSAM Director Hasan Kanbolat, Prof. Mark Almond (Bilkent University), Dr. İlyas Kamalov (Turkish Historical Society), Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar (Bilkent University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Kırımlı (Bilkent University), Vladimir Klyunya (Belorussia State University), Ass. Prof. Dr. Sean McMeekin (Bilkent University), Prof. Dr. Viktor Shadursky (Belorussia State University), Prof. Norman Stone (Bilkent University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oktay Tanrısever (ODTU), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taşansu Türker (Ankara University) made presentations.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged their opinions on regional subjects, and especially on the cooperation possibilities between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
