ORSAM SUMMER SCHOOL JULY 2010 ENDED

ORSAM Summer School Program, which took place on July 5th to 16th 2010, ended today. A hundred and fifty students from eight different undergraduate programs in thirty three universities from fifteen different provinces attended the Summer School. During the program, ORSAM Advisors, experts, visiting professors gave lectures on political, economic and social problems of the Middle East.

ORSAM Director Hasan Kanbolat, who made the closing remarks, said that international relations departments in Turkey have greatly increased in number; however job opportunities for fresh graduates have not increased. Kanbolat said that, career advisory lectures will be added to the Summer Schools from now on, in order to help students prepare for the period after graduation. Kanbolat recommended the students to prioritize foreign visits in order to broaden links with cultures and education organizations of different countries. Kanbolat said that student organizations should be taking initiatives for this issue, and ORSAM can help for visits to the Middle Eastern countries. Kanbolat told that articles of students, who are interested in international politics, will be published in the Young ORSAM section of ORSAM website. Kanbolat also stressed that polls that the students answered will be taken into the utmost consideration.
