Regional Developments in The Middle East and Turkey-Iran Relations Workshop

The workshop started with an opening speech and held in two sessions. Academics from Turkey and Iran, diplomats and specialists attended to the workshop. The issues discussed in the first session were regional impact of the US presidential elections within the context of regional developments in the Middle East, implication of Russian involvement in Syrian crisis, the escalating tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and the fight against ISIS. In the second session, Turkey-Iran relations after the nuclear deal, bilateral economic and political relations, the regional vision of two states especially regarding Syria and Iraq, the divergence of opinion between the two states on regional issues and their common interests were discussed.
