ROUND TABLE MEETING WITH ANA CASCAO, SIWI’S DIRECTOR OF CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

On September 20, 2011 Ana Cascao, the Director of Capacity Building Programme at the Stockholm International Water Institute, visited ORSAM and attended a round table meeting. Director of ORSAM Hasan Kanbolat, ORSAM Middle East Reseracher Oytun Orhan, ORSAM Middle East Specialist Bilgay Duman, ORSAM Middle East Research Assistant Sercan Dogan, and advisors from Hydropolitics, ORSAM Water Research Programme, Dr. Tugba Evrim Made and Dr. Seyfi Kilic attended the meeting.

In the meeting, SIWI official Ana Cascao gave some information about the studies of SIWI and the ongoing Euphrates-Tigris Basin development project. Composed of three steps, this project started in 2009 and is planned to finish by 2012. The project basically supports the sustainable water management. Within the programme, various programmes and trainings are arranged. The meeting in which ORSAM and ORSAM Water Research Programme are introduced went on with questions and share of information. In the last part of the meeting, transboundary waters, cooperation of riparian countries and integrated water resources were discussed.
