Hüseyin Alptekin

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Alptekin is a faculty member at the National Defense University, Institute of Land Warfare. He completed his PhD in 2014 in the Department of Political Science at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include international security, comparative political institutions, ethnic politics, and the politics of Türkiye and the Middle East. Alptekin’s articles have been published in journals and encyclopedias such as Ethnic and Racial Studies, Mediterranean Politics, Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, and The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Political Thought. He is the author of the books Türkiye’s Grand Strategy: A Conceptual Introduction and Ethnic Terrorism and Counterterrorism Strategies: The IRA, ETA, Tamil Tigers, and the PKK, and the editor of Analysis of PKK Terrorism: The Türkiye Terrorism Incidents Database. Alptekin is also among the authors of the books Global Defense Industry Trends and Social Movement Against Terrorism: The Diyarbakır Mothers.
