ROUND TABLE MEETING IN ORSAM WITH DR. SAMI ALFARAJ,PRESIDENT OF THE KUWAIT CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES

A roundtable meeting was held in the Center for Middle Eastern Strategic Studies on 17 August 2011, with the participation of Dr. Sami Alfaraj, Head of the Kuwait Centre for Strategic Studies

ORSAM Director Hasan Kanbolat, ORSAM Middle East Advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Serhat Erkmen, Dr. Bayram Sinkaya, Pınar Arıkan Sinkaya, ORSAM Middle East Experts Oytun Orhan and Bilgay Duman, ORSAM Water Research Programme Experts Dr. Tuğba Evrim Maden and Dr. Seyfi Kılıç, and ORSAM Assistant Researchers Sercan Doğan and Nebahat Tanrıverdi O attended the meeting. Live debates and important discussions were held on issues such as the recent developments in the Middle East, the Arab Spring and its effects, Arab-Israeli Peace Process, the effects of the situation in Libya and Syria, and Turkey’s political and economic relations.
 
After Dr. Sami Alfaraj shared his views on those matters, the question and answers period begun. The debate and exchange of ideas focused mostly on the situation in Syria. The meeting ended with the expression of mutual desires for cooperation.
