Dr. Gökhan Ereli earned his master’s degree in International Relations (IR) from Middle East Technical University (METU) in the 2017-2018 academic year and his PhD from METU in the 2024-2025 academic year. He began his career as a research assistant at ORSAM Gulf Studies Department in June 2018 and has held the position of Gulf Studies Coordinator since September 2021. In the 2021-2022 period, he conducted various field research studies in Jordan (Amman, Salt, Medeba), Qatar (Doha), and several emirates across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman. His academic interests are the political economy of the Middle East, identity politics, post-positivist IR theories, contemporary French philosophy, and the interplay of religion and nationalism.
