Ali Balcı

Biography

Dr., is associate professor at the Department of International Relations in Sakarya University, Turkey. He graduated from the Department of International Relations at Uludağ University and obtained his MA (2014) and PhD (2010) degrees from the Department of International Relations at Sakarya University. He has been in the University of Manchester, and Columbia University as visiting scholar respectively. His academic writings appeared in such journals as: Ethnicities, Turkish Studies, Insight Turkey, Journal of South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Mediterranean Quarterly, Uluslararası Hukuk ve Politika [International Law and Politics], Middle East Critique and Uluslararası İlişkiler [International Relations]. He is also the author of the following books: Türkiye’de Militarist Devlet Söylemi (Militarist State Discourse in Turkey) [Kadim Yayinları, 2011], Türkiye Dış Politikası: İlkeler, Aktörler, Uygulamalar (Turkey’s Foreign Policy: Principles, Actors, Practices) [Etkileşim Yayınları, 2013], Dış Politikada Hesaplaşmak: AK Parti, Ordu ve Kemalizm (Confronting through Foreign Policy: AK Party, Military and Kemalism), [Etkileşim Yayınları, 2015]. Balci also is the co-editor of the following books: Ortadoğu Yıllığı (Middle East Annual) [Nobel Yayınları, 2006), and Uluslararası İlişkilere Giriş: Tarih, Teori, Kavram ve Konular [Introduction to International Relations: History, Theory, Concepts and Issues] [Küre Yayinları, 2014].
