Veysel Kurt
Veysel Kurt graduated from the Department of International Relations at Uludağ University in 2006. He completed his master’s degree in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul University and earned his PhD from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University. During the 2012–2013 academic year, he was a visiting researcher at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Indiana University. Between 2013 and 2021, Kurt worked as a researcher at the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA). He is currently continuing his academic work at the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul Medeniyet University. His main research interests include international security, Middle Eastern politics, proxy wars, and Turkish foreign policy. In addition to articles published in various academic journals, he has served as the editor of the books Army and Politics in the Middle East and Security Strategies in the Middle East, and is the author of the book titled The United States and the Transformation of the Syrian Crisis.
