Sercan Çalışkan

Biography

Sercan Çalışkan graduated from the Department of History at Istanbul University in 2017. In the same year, he started the International Security and Terrorism Master's Program in the Alparslan Security Sciences Institute at the National Defense University. Mr. Çalışkan completed his master's degree with the thesis entitled "Perception Wars through Social Media: The Case of Operation Olive Branch". He continues his doctoral education in the International Security Program at the Police Academy. While Mr. Çalışkan’s general area of interests includes irregular warfare issues within the framework of security studies, he is particularly interested in Iraqi Turkmens and the security problems in Iraq within the scope of regional studies. He also carries out studies on China's Middle East policies. He currently serves as a Iraqi Studies Researcher at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM). He has good command of English.
